Log-Periodic Dipole Array (Std, Stacked, Hybrid) Antennas
The standard Log-Periodic Dipole array antenna series 22XX are linearly polarized, broadband antennas designed for operation across 80 MHz to 8 GHz. These antennas feature carefully chosen scaling factors, varying element diameters, and optimized boom spacing to ensure excellent VSWR performance across the entire frequency range. The precision design of the feed system and element placement ensures optimal phase alignment, directing RF energy efficiently toward the smaller elements. As a result, the larger elements behind the active region become electrically inactive at any given frequency. The antennas provide a consistent gain, resulting in an antenna factor that changes linearly with frequency. This smooth, predictable variation allows for easy and accurate interpolation between calibration points.
The stacked Log-Periodic Dipole array antenna series 23XX is especially designed for wideband immunity tests. The unique designs are able to cover the entire frequency range from 80 MHz to 8 GHz that provide optimum gain and field uniformity at the same time. For mechanical reasons the antenna comes with an ultra-low loss radome cover to protect the radiating elements at the antenna tip. The antennas are ideal in situations where high fields need to be generated. While the antennas can be used as a receiving antenna, its primary purpose is to generate high field strengths required for automotive EMC testing in accordance with standards such as ISO 11451-2, as well as for MIL-STD susceptibility testing.
The hybrid antenna series 24XX is designed as a dual-purpose antenna that can be used for both immunity and emission testing. From 30 MHz to 8 GHz, the antenna exhibits an average 5.5 dB gain improvement. Applications for the antenna include emissions testing, immunity measurements, and medical equipment testing.
